Proper base, steel reinforcement and drainage, all covered in a free quote. New driveways, replacements and extensions across the Fraser Coast.
Hervey Bay Concreting installs concrete driveways across Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast surrounds, roughly 45km out. We build new driveways, replace cracked ones and pour extensions, in plain, coloured or exposed aggregate finishes. Every quote is free, covering base, steel, drainage and finish — give us a call if you're not sure we cover your area.
A driveway fails from underneath, not on top. That's why the parts you never see get most of our attention.
We excavate to solid ground and compact road base before any concrete arrives. A firm, even base is the single biggest factor in whether a driveway stays flat.
Reinforcing mesh goes into every driveway we pour. Steel holds the slab together under load, so a heavy vehicle doesn't turn a hairline into a split.
Concrete shrinks as it cures. Control joints give that movement a tidy place to go, instead of a random crack across your driveway.
We set the fall so water runs off the slab and away from the house, not into your garage or under the slab where it causes trouble.
Thickness matches what you'll park on it:
| What's using it | Slab thickness |
|---|---|
| Cars and daily traffic | 100mm |
| Caravans, boats, trailers | 125mm |
| Trucks and heavy vehicles | 150mm with heavier reinforcement |

The workhorse. Lowest cost per square metre, clean look, decades of service.
Colour mixed through the batch, not painted on. Match your roof, fence or render without changing the price much.
Stone revealed through the surface for grip and looks. The premium pick for sloped or street-facing driveways. See our exposed aggregate driveway finishes for stone and colour options.
Building or landscaping? We work in with your builder's levels and pour when the site's ready.
If your old driveway is cracked, sunken or drummy, patching is usually money down the drain. We remove the old slab, fix what caused the failure and pour it right.
Extra parking, a caravan pad or a wider entry. We tie the new section into your existing slab, match the finish and set the levels so it looks like it was always there.

We measure, check access and fall, and look at the crossover. You get a free quote in writing.
Old surface out if it's a replacement, ground cut to level, base compacted, formwork and steel set.
Concrete down, screeded, finished in your chosen style, control joints cut.
Walk on it after 24 to 48 hours. Keep cars off for 7 days. We put the times in writing so there's no guessing.

Cost depends on the size, access, base prep and finish. Plain concrete is the most affordable option, coloured concrete costs a little more, and exposed aggregate is the premium finish. Your free quote gives you the exact figure for your site.
100mm for cars, 125mm if caravans or trailers will sit on it, and 150mm with heavier reinforcement for trucks. We spec the thickness in your quote based on how you'll actually use it.
Keep vehicles off for 7 days. You can walk on it after 24 to 48 hours. Concrete keeps gaining strength for 28 days, and your handover sheet lists the exact times.
It depends what's underneath. Surface-level wear can be resurfaced. Cracks from a failed base or sunken sections mean resurfacing just hides a moving problem, and a re-pour is the honest fix. We tell you which at the site visit.
Driveways crack from poor base prep, missing steel or no control joints. We build to prevent it: compacted base, reinforcing mesh and joints that give shrinkage a controlled path. Hairline surface lines can still appear in any concrete; structural cracks are what good prep avoids.
The crossover (the section between the road and your boundary) is council-controlled, and works on it generally need approval from Fraser Coast Regional Council. We factor the crossover into your quote and tell you what applies to your job.
