Exposed aggregate — 'exposed agg' to most locals — is a normal concrete pour with one extra trick. Before the surface fully sets, we wash back the top layer of cement paste. That reveals the stones mixed through the concrete, leaving a textured, decorative surface that's as strong as a standard slab.
You choose the stone blend and base colour up front. The result is a finish that looks premium, grips well and wears slowly.

| Plain concrete | Exposed aggregate | |

We excavate, lay the base, set formwork and steel. Good prep is why the slab doesn't crack later.
Concrete with your chosen stone blend mixed through, poured and screeded level.
At the right moment, we wash back the surface to reveal the stone evenly across the whole slab.
Once cured, we seal the surface to lock in the colour and protect against salt, sun and stains.

No, that's its main practical advantage. The textured stone surface grips underfoot in the wet, which is why it's the standard choice for pool surrounds and sloped driveways.
Resealing is recommended every few years, depending on sun, traffic and salt exposure. It's a quick job that keeps the colour rich and the surface protected.
Twenty years or more when it's poured on a proper base and resealed on schedule. It's the same structural concrete as a plain slab, just with a better face.
You choose both the base colour and the stone blend. Popular local picks run from cream bases with river pebble to charcoal bases with dark granite. We bring samples to the site visit.
Sometimes. If your existing slab is sound, an exposed aggregate overlay or resurfacing may work. If it's cracked or moving, a re-pour is the honest answer. We'll tell you which at the site visit.
